It embraces individuality in terms of culture, original fusions of contemporary and traditional compositions, musicianship, race and pride. It provides a platform particularly for female indigenous and ethnic musicians creating their own contemporary music yet drawing on their traditional and cultural backgrounds.

It aims to promote women in music who see their culture as an integral part to their music and to bring together these cultures through music.

Planet Woman provides concerts and workshops and particularly aims to perform in areas or to groups, which wouldn’t otherwise receive a diverse range of musical live acts.  This includes regional and remote areas and communities disadvantaged in some way.

Planet Woman is developing new networks for future Planet Woman productions and encourages further works for the individual groups and artists participating.

Since its inception in July 2002, Planet Woman has set up tours in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe.
